# Comparing Single-Digit Numbers

The worksheets below will help your students understand how to count and compare numbers less than 10. They will use phrases: greater than, less than, and equal to. They will also use the words more and less.

## Greater, Less, Equal

Count the objects in each box. Compare using the words greater, less, and equal.
Write the numbers shown in the ten frames. Then compare, using the phrases is more than, is less than, and is equal to.
Read each story. Then write a number sentence to compare. Use <, >, and =.
Compare numbers using alligator symbols and the words "greater than" and "less than."
Incorporate these large alligators into your "greater than" and "less than" lesson.
Kindergarten
Write the numbers shown. Illustrations show math counters, snap cubes, ten frames, and place value blocks. Then compare by circling the correct phrase: phrases is more than, is less than, and is equal to.

Compare the number of dots in the boxes. Tell which have fewer, and which have more.
Color the box that has more hearts. Color more than 5 stars. Color than 4 diamonds. Word Problem: Max has 4 pens. Pat has 1 pen. Who has fewer pens?

## More and Less(Comparing Amounts of Liquid)

Color the cup the has more water. Color the bottle that has less water. Cup A has more water than Cup B. Draw water in Cup B.
Color the bottle that holds more water. Color the carton that holds less milk. Color the pitcher that holds less iced tea.
