This poem teaches students about writing similes. The worksheet that follows allows students to practice writing their own similes.
What would you do if you could rocket to the stars? This poem outlines a fun day in space for the narrator. Following the poem are five reading comprehension questions.
Students must match the beginning of each simile with the end part. Each simile is a common expression, such as "as Busy as a Beaver" or "As Sly as a Fox."
Read the poem about idioms, then answer the questions that follow.
Read the poem in which weather words are personified.  Then, write your own examples of personification.
