This page has spelling Unit E-1, and a variety of worksheets to use with this unit. Words in this unit have short-A and short-E sounds. List of spelling words: spread, rebel, century, present, expect, elect, trendsetter, nestle, empty, thread, snagged, thrash, relax, attack, expand, distract, gratitude, battery, balance, captain, pledge, and depth.
List E-1 has spelling 25 fifth grade spelling words, each with the short a or short e sound. There are 20 regular words, 3 review words, and 2 challenge words.

For part 1 of this worksheet, students answer questions about their spelling words. For part 2, they write a spelling word for each definition shown. In part 3, students write a spelling word that is an antonym of the word shown. In part 4, they use a spelling word to complete each sentence.
